CAL FIRE Local 2881 Endorses Cristi Nelson for State Assembly
Roseville, CA – Local businesswoman and public safety advocate Cristi Nelson has received the endorsement of CAL FIRE Local 2881 in her bid for the 6th Assembly District.
For over 40 years, CAL FIRE Local 2881 has represented over 6,000 current and retired firefighters across 30 counties. CAL FIRE is the largest fire department in California and the third largest in the United States, and is responsible for responding to over 300,000 emergencies each year.
“Cristi’s commitment to protecting our communities is unmatched by any other candidate in this race,” stated CAL FIRE Local 2881 President Mike Lopez. “She understands the value that first responders add to our communities and is steadfast in her promise to provide the public safety community with a voice in the legislature. CAL FIRE Local 2881 is proud to offer her our full support.”
CAL FIRE Local 2881 is but the latest one of a growing list of public safety organizations to rally behind Nelson. Other public safety endorsements include the Placer County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, the Folsom Police Officers’ Association, the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), and a number of local retired public safety leaders. The daughter of a Special Agent Supervisor with the California Department of Justice, Cristi Nelson has maintained a lifelong respect for the men and women who make up the public safety community.
“I’m deeply honored to have received CAL FIRE Local 2881’s endorsement,” Nelson said. “Every day, thousands of brave men and women across California put their lives on the line to keep us safe, and I’m truly humbled to earn their support.”
A Sacramento-area native, Cristi has spent much of her career protecting families, taxpayers, and small businesses from predatory lawsuits. Today, she and her husband own a Roseville-based technology company that employs over 300 people. In her free time, Cristi serves as a member of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Mounted Team.
Cristi Nelson is running for the 6th Assembly District, which includes communities in El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento counties. She has been married to her husband, Rick, for 23 years, and they have two children.
