El Dorado County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association Endorses Cristi Nelson for Assembly
Roseville, CA – Local businesswoman and public safety advocate Cristi Nelson has received the endorsement of the El Dorado County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (DSA).
“Cristi Nelson’s fierce dedication to public safety sets her apart from the other candidates in this race,” stated Todd Crawford, President of the El Dorado County DSA. “In her campaign for the State Assembly, Cristi has made it clear that public safety is her number one priority and expressed a deeply rooted appreciation for the sacrifices our law enforcement officers make. We need more leaders like Cristi who will stand up for the safety of our neighborhoods, our residents and our peace officers.”
The El Dorado County DSA represents over 170 local sworn law enforcement officers and is the latest in a long line of public safety organizations and officials to throw their support behind Nelson. Cristi has also earned the endorsements of Placer County Sheriff Ed Bonner, the Placer County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, the Folsom Police Officers’ Association, the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), CAL FIRE Local 2881 and a number of local retired public safety leaders.
“I am honored to have received the endorsement and the trust of the El Dorado County DSA,” stated Nelson. “We place a tremendous amount of responsibility on the shoulders of our hardworking law enforcement officers. It is imperative that, in turn, our leaders support the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our communities. As your Assemblywoman, public safety will always be my number one priority.”
A self-made businesswoman, Cristi graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Criminal Justice, and earned her law degree while working full time. After spending much of her career working to protect businesses and hardworking families from predatory litigation, Cristi and her husband own a Roseville-based tech company that employs over 300 people.
The daughter of a Special Agent Supervisor with the California Department of Justice, Cristi Nelson has maintained a lifelong respect for the men and women who make up the public safety community. A long-time member of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Mounted Team, Nelson dedicates much of her free time to promoting safety and security within our communities.
Cristi Nelson is running for the 6th Assembly District, which includes communities in El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento counties. She has been married to her husband, Rick, for 23 years, and they have two children.
